Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price

ELECTION 2024

PRICE RECALL

—GATHERING STORM—A potential new front in the campaign to recall Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price may be emerging.

—A group named “Reviving the Bay Area” filed a committee statement with the Alameda County Registrar of Voters Office on Monday.

—The committee’s officers include Philip Dreyfuss, a local investor who was part of the successful recall of San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin.

—Dreyfuss is also an officer for Save Alameda For Everyone (SAFE), the group leading the effort in Alameda County to recall Price.

—Isaac Abid, a partner at HP Investors, an investment firm with properties in Oakland, is also listed as an officer for “Reviving the Bay Area.”

—It’s not entirely clear what “Reviving the Bay Area” is specifically about. A request for information about the committee has not yet been answered.

—The committee’s stated focus is overly broad. According to the filing, “Reviving the Bay Area” was created to “oppose and support state and local California ballot measures and recall committees.”

—Based on the background of the committee’s members, it’s likely the group is focused on the Price recall. Pure speculation: Although remote, the committee could also be about something else like a recall of Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao, or some other public safety issue.
