Alameda County prosecutors really don't want Pamela Price to be their boss; spends big on IE opposing her DA run

—RISE OF THE IE—A message of bravado from Pamela Price to Alameda County prosecutors four years ago could make or break her primary campaign this spring. Terry Wiley, one of Price’s opponents in the Alameda County District Attorney June primary, delivered the R-rated version two weeks ago of what Price reportedly told prosecutor during the 2018 DAs race. “Ms. Price and her team went up to a group of our DAs and said, ‘We’re going to fire all you motherf—kers.’”
—Alameda County prosecutors have not forgotten the threat to the jobs and gave $49,000 to an independent expenditure (IE) committee recently formed to oppose Price’s campaign this June. The Alameda County Prosecutors Association made the contribution to an IE named the Golden State Communities Project last Monday, according to a campaign finance report. The union recently endorsed Wiley for Alameda County DA.
—Including the union’s outlay, the IE has at least $106,000 in contributions. As the IEs name suggests, its donors comes from Northern and Southern California, and the Central Valley. A $25,000 contributions was made last week by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation of Yolo County. The Stockton Police Officers Association PAC gave $10,000 to the IE on April 11.
—So what should voters in Alameda County expect to see from the Golden State Communities Project over the next six weeks? The IE already spent $30,000 on Tuesday for television and web ads, according to a campaign finance report. If opposition to Price’s DA campaign in 2018 is indicative of what’s to come, then these ads will be brutal…
