—HERE WE GO!—The June primary results in Alameda County are not even certified yet, but candidates in the 20th Assembly District and Alameda County District Attorney rematches this fall came out punching on Thursday night at a virtual gathering of San Leandro Democratic Club members.
—In both forums, the candidates immediately revealed their General Election campaign strategies. Twentieth Assembly District candidate Liz Ortega repeatedly labeled opponent Shawn Kumagai as the beneficiary of corporate interests. Kumagai responded by saying he supports the state’s just cause laws while advocating for a wide range of interests.
—In the Alameda County DA race, Terry Wiley took steps to soften the hit landed by primary opponent Jimmie Wilson regarding an incident between Wiley’s son and police. Pamela Price, who finished first in the June primary, continued her consistent plea for reform, but falsely asserted that Wiley received the support of Alameda County Sheriff Greg Ahern...
