Alameda County DA candidate Jimmie Wilson spent the most money of any Alameda County campaign over the past month and raised the most during same reporting period.

ELECTION 2022

—MONEYBALL TO THE EXTREME—With the second pre-primary campaign finance reports released on Thursday, this is the moment when we see how candidates are spending all the money they have raised over the past six months to one year, in some cases. Today’s newsletter focuses on campaign finance reports in all the contested Alameda County June primary races along with Field Notes that will be featured every weekday through Primary Day on June 7. The East Bay’s three major state legislative races also includes campaign finance reports, Field Notes, in addition, to a break down of Independent Expenditure Committee activity that is significantly shaping each of these races.

ALAMEDA COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

—FIELD NOTES—This race had a major pivot point with the highly negative mailer sent by Jimmie Wilson’s campaign earlier this month. Content aside, the mailer signaled that Wilson is going all-in. His spending over the past month shows that. Wilson spent $324,398 down the stretch, eclipsing not only the other three candidates in the DA’s race, but every campaign running for office in Alameda County over the past month. Wilson’s campaign appears to be heading to Primary Day with a head of steam. Terry Wiley also spent heavily in the last month as he attempts to finish in the top two. Some believe Pamela Price will be in the November runoff. Possibly with Wilson. If so, Wilson could have a large fundraising advantage over Price going into the fall election season.
