Khanna Lands No. 4 Spot in House Fundraising
Khanna, a potential presidential candidate in 2028, reported $15 mil in cash reserves; Oakland councilmember shows up to a meeting with a bloody hand

☕️MORNING BUZZ
Vol. VI, No. 1,186
—The latest campaign finance reports highlight stark differences in fundraising among Alameda County House members.
Rep. Ro Khanna remains in a league of his own, raising nearly $1.7 million during the last three months and reporting more than $15.4 million in cash on hand, as of Dec. 31.
Khanna raised the fourth-most campaign contributions in the House last year, according to the Federal Election Commission.
Elsewhere in Alameda County’s congressional caucus, Reps. Mark DeSaulnier and Lateefah Simon reported comparatively modest fundraising and spending, ending the year with $725,570 and $591,895 on hand, respectively—levels consistent with safe Democratic districts.
Rep. Eric Swalwell outspent his fundraising during the period and closed the year with $360,341 in cash on hand, reflecting his decision in November to switch gears to a gubernatorial run.
Swalwell’s gubernatorial fundraising report is not yet posted, but expect the haul to be significantly greater than anything he’s raised before, especially in such a short amount of time.
