Hayward and employee unions reach 13% increase over 3 years; There's growing mistrust between Alameda County's Election Commission and the registrar

HAYWARD
—LUCKY 13%—With the economy relatively strong, but teetering recently on the possibility of a recession on the horizon, Hayward is nearing three-year contract extensions with three of its biggest labor unions.
—SEIU Local 1021 workers in Hayward will receive a 13 percent cost-of-living increase over the next three years, according to a memorandum of understanding between the city and the union.
Six percent increase in July 2024
Four percent increase on July 1, 2025
Three percent increase on July 1, 2026
—Furthermore, SEIU Local 1021 employees under three percent of the local median wage for the position will receive additional salary increases.
—In addition, International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFTPE) Local 21 and Hayward Association of Management Employees will each receive the same cost-of-living increases over the next three years.
