Pamela Price is in big, big trouble
AC Transit nears new board wards; PAC spends big in support of BLee
PRICE RECALL
—DEEP TROUBLE—In the past week we’ve learned the campaign seeking to recall Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price is well-funded. On Tuesday, we learned that Save Alameda For Everyone (SAFE), the committee to recall Price, is well-organized.
—Like a conveyor belt, SAFE has already secured 70,000 signatures in just the first five weeks of their campaign, the group announced.
—Under the current set of rules laid out in the county charter, SAFE needs 73,000 valid signatures to qualify the recall question on a future ballot.
—That means SAFE is not quite there. To account for invalid signatures, SAFE needs obtain somewhere between 95,000 to 100,000 signatures.
—However, SAFE also announced they “overshot” their budget for signature gatherers and need more money for their effort. Insiders say SAFE has spent $1 million on their paid army of signature gatherers.
