Price gives recall campaign some bulletin board material

—PRICE GIVES HERSELF AN ‘A’—Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price made the media rounds over the weekend after the emergence of a committee seeking her recall.
—Perhaps, Price should have continued avoiding the media.
—Her appearances on NBC Bay Area and KPIX showed Price to be prideful, dismissive of those who did not vote for her, said crime is not a problem in East Oakland, and was rude to one of the reporters.
—In short, Price provided a load of “bulletin board material” for the recall committee to use to their advantage in coming months. Here’s a few of Price’s notable statements:
“These folks lost and the majority of people that voted for us to bring criminal justice reforms to Alameda County—to protect public safety—and to do the things that we are doing—I am answerable to the whole county, but I am particularly answerable to those who voted for me. And since we won, I’m going to keep my promises. I think that has been terrifying for the people who lost.”
Price gave herself an “A” for her first six months in office.
Upon taking office, Price said her team found “all sorts of financial irregularities” at former DA Nancy O’Malley’s office.
“The DA's role has really no impact on crime. To create a safe community, we need to invest in alternatives to incarceration."
“I live in East Oakland even and I know a lot of people say, 'Oh that's terrible!' I feel safe," Price said.
“Seasoned prosecutor to me is not someone with 7 or 10 years. I've been a lawyer for 40 years so if someone says they're seasoned to me, they need to show me where they've been practicing law for 40 years at the highest level," Price said.
Price’s press person attempted to control the KPIX interview. Following the interview, the reporter asked Price. "‘I hope that, moving forward, we will have more access to you.’ Price responded, ‘I doubt it, quite frankly’ and laughed. She stated that it was because she is busy.”
—Sunday’s comments follows a clear assertion that those seeking the recall are backed by Republicans (no verifiable connection has been made for this assertion), and has equated opponents to “election deniers” and Jan. 6 insurrectionists.
