☕️MORNING BUZZ
—I want to thank all the new subscribers who have joined the newsletter since the start of the new year, and all the loyal Insiders that have stuck around. Total subscriptions are over 4,000, and the average monthly readership is already above the all-time high that occurred prior to Election Day.
I’m still tweaking the new Morning Buzz feature, but this Substack has always been about experimenting.
In today’s newsletter, I breakdown the cash reserves for every elected city official in Alameda County. Why? Because following yesterday’s rundown of federal, state, and county leaders, a reader asked for it, and I have problems with saying no.
—One more thing. I’m opening up the newsletter to advertising for the first time. Specifically, I’m looking for a coffee shop or breakfast-related advertiser to sponsor the Morning Buzz every weekday.
Forty-three percent of East Bay Insiders read the newsletter between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. So many readers say their morning ritual that includes reading the newsletter while getting ready for work, having their morning coffee, or eating breakfast.
I’m also looking for up to five sponsors. The plan is to rotate each sponsor once a week above the paywall. The other four days your ad appears below the paywall. Your business will also be featured with a 15-30 second ad on the East Bay Insiders Podcast, and later when East Bay Insiders TV, a talking heads-style show, debuts in the spring.
