—With the clock ticking to the extended filing deadline this Wednesday, the field is already shaping up.

—On Monday, Emeryville Councilmember John Bauters pulled papers in District 5, as did Berkeley Councilmember Ben Bartlett.

—Gerald Pechenuk and Lorrel Primier, also pulled papers on Monday.

—Meanwhile, everyone is awaiting termed out state Sen. Nancy Skinner’s decision.

—If she files, Skinner would be a strong favorite, and easily the candidate with the most money in the field.

—Skinner’s committee for state treasurer reported $871,000 in cash reserves, as of June 30.
