—GUILT BY ASSOCIATION—A second independent expenditure committee (IE) is using an opponent’s support for Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price against them.
—Preserving Agriculture in Alameda County sent a mailer to District 4 voters that links supervisorial candidate Jennifer Esteen with Price and labels both as “soft on crime.”
—The IE has long been a part of politics in unincorporated Alameda County. Its treasurer is Chuck Moore, an appointee of District 4 Supervisor Nate Miley’s to the Castro Valley Municipal Advisory Council.
—Earlier this month, the California Apartment Association Housing Solutions Committee IE sent a more direct mailer that called out Esteen for two tweets.
—One highlighted Esteen’s support for defunding the police, the other in support of Price’s campaign for district attorney.
